PARK is an experimental meta-documentary filmed in Joshua Tree National Park that examines the complex relationship between people and protected landscapes. Through a combination of static and tracking shots, it captures the contrast between the desert’s still beauty and the constant presence of human activity. The serene visuals are layered with the sounds of engines, voices, and footsteps, transforming the desert’s silence into a restless symphony.

Created during a family trip to California, the film reflects on the paradox of preserving a wilderness while inviting it to be consumed. PARK questions how tourism reshapes nature and how our efforts to experience untouched spaces inevitably alter them. By juxtaposing isolation and intrusion, it asks what it truly means to protect the natural world in an age of constant visitation.

Screened at the 52nd Concordia Film Festival (May 2025).
